OVERVIEW

The Hairdresser to Barber course is aimed at delegates who are already proficient in Hairdressing and wish to develop their Barbering techniques. You will learn the fundamental knowledge and understanding of the basic techniques used in Barbering and how these differ for those used in Hairdressing.

This will give you the confidence to master the basic cut shapes and give you a solid grounding ready to move on to a creative level in both Hairdressing & Barbering.

The course will cover the use of the clipper and how it can be used as a precision tool with the right training and practice and remains the cornerstone of everyday barbering.

Hands on learning with tutor demonstration and explanations.

COURSE CONTENT

• Introduction to the context of men’s hairdressing
• Assessing head shapes & hair types
• Standardised approach to sectioning
• Scissor over comb
• Efficient use of all core tools – clipper, open razor and scissors
• Finishing techniques

CONTINUING PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT HOURS

Hours you will be investing in your Continuing Professional Development is 6 hours of CPD which will be allocated on your certificate.

Qualified to Level 2 or equivalent in Hairdressing
